Maths
Introduction
Senior Cycle Mathematics builds on Junior Cycle and develops the knowledge, skills and understanding students need for education, work and everyday problem-solving. Curriculum Online explains that the subject supports flexible, disciplined thinking in mathematical and real-world contexts. The syllabus is offered at Higher, Ordinary and Foundation Level. Higher and Ordinary Level students sit two examination papers, while Foundation Level students sit one. Zr Academy lessons help students organise the course into manageable strands: algebra, functions, calculus, trigonometry, geometry, coordinate geometry, sequences, probability and statistics. We focus on method choice, notation, calculator use, diagram work, proof, interpretation and exam timing. Students practise both routine questions and unfamiliar problems so they can build confidence and reduce avoidable errors.
