Introduction

Leaving Certificate Mandarin Chinese is designed for learners from a wide range of language backgrounds, including students beginning the language and heritage learners developing their skills. Curriculum Online describes the specification as ab initio, broadly aligned with Pre-A1/A1 expectations, and focused on using the target language for communication while exploring the relationship between language and culture. Assessment is available at Higher and Ordinary Level and includes oral, aural and written components. Zr Academy lessons support tones, characters, vocabulary, grammar patterns, listening, reading and speaking in realistic contexts.
